A study supported by REDDCopernicus has recently released the article “Tropical Forest Monitoring: Challenges and Recent Progress in Research”

The study is based on a systematic literature research focusing on recent research in the domain of tropical forest monitoring. The article provides an understanding as to where research should be targeted in the future by using three characteristics, which there are biophysical conditions, anthropogenic influences and forest monitoring capacities. The authors suggest to focus future research in countires with lower capacities and higher needs, in order to improve tropical forest monitoring and forest conservation.
